One of Alan Ayckbourn's most cherished productions will be appearing on the West End stage during a 14-week season.

The Peter Hall-produced Bedroom Farce will begin a residency at the Duke of York's Theatre on March 24th following a stint at Kingston's Rose Theatre last autumn.

Running until July 10th, the comedy looks at the difficulties facing four suburban couples and while there are plenty of highs, a number of arguments and the odd misdemeanour do take place.

Trevor and Susannah are the stars of the show, and their marital problems appear to cause more problems in other relationships.

Bedroom Farce was written in 1975 and last appeared in London in 2002 starring June Whitfield and Richard Briers.

It first came to the capital in 1977 at the National Theatre and was so successful that it got transferred to the West End a year later.

It will be the first play to appear at the Duke of York's Theatre since the closure of Twelfth Night last month.
