The huge demand for tickets for Kids Week in the West End has led to the event being extended into a third week for the first time ever.

Originally due to run from August 13th to 27th, the festival will now continue until September 3rd.

Families will therefore have more opportunities to take advantage of ticket promotions at some of the hit West End shows taking part in the initiative, such as Sister Act, Grease, Mamma Mia! and Tap Dogs.

Tickets for performances between August 28th and September 3rd will go on sale tomorrow (July 28th).

Emma De Souza, development manager at the Society of London Theatre, said: "We are thrilled that Kids Week is giving more children than ever before the chance to experience the magic of live theatre.

"As an extra bonus we are organising a special family fun day for 5-10 year olds at the Unicorn Theatre on September 2nd."

The festival will also feature a range of events and activities designed to stimulate children's interest in the theatre.
