07/09/2010 10:55:25
Guests at the InterContinental London Park Lane in the West End will soon have the opportunity to experience the flavour of Colombian culture.
Colombia Gourmet 2010, an event arranged in association with the South American country's tourist board and embassy in the UK, will take place at the hotel's Cookbook Cafe venue from September 23rd to October 3rd.
During this time, chef Paul Bates and his team will prepare a range of Latin American dishes, with the help of two visiting culinary experts from the InterContinental Medellin in Colombia.
Highlights of the special menus on offer to West End visitors will include a chicken and potato soup known as 'ajiaco santafereno', fried red snapper 'a la Cartagena' and rice pudding with loganberries and a tamarillo compote.
In addition to the culinary experiences, the Park Lane hotel will host live music performances and displays of work by Colombian artists such as Nena Geiger, Enrique Ruiz and Maria Peragan.
