Battersea Pie Station launches in WC2
Pie eaters on a diet – look away now. The rest of you should picture a beautifully made pie, with crisp pastry on top and a wonderfully soft and soggy filling; all served with a rich gravy and mashed potatoes. This classic British delicacy comes courtesy of Battersea Pie Station, who’ve just opened their first store in Covent Garden’s Market Building after years of selling their fabulous creations at live events such as Glastonbury.
Battersea Pie Station is a modern interpretation of old favourites, combining familiar pies such as steak and Guinness, with new twists such as butternut squash with goat’s cheese. Brit movie star Ray Winstone has also got involved, with ‘The Winstone’ pie (steak and kidney) seeing 20% of all proceeds going to his chosen charity Thames Reach (link to Thames Reach).
Eating pies for charity? Fund-raising has never been so much fun.
